Something really COOL for Educators!

It is really cool, because I know how we worked on getting re-certified each year because it is a requirement in our district or the state. Well, here's what's cool. I found this site which is affiliated with the famous TEDx, and TEDtalks. There is the EDx which offers online courses continuesly each each! And guess what? When you finish the course, you have the option to have it credited to a university for a minimal fee. I think that is really cool, knowing our schedules and how busy we are. I really think that this is a good resource for teachers who wanted to earn credits for re-certification. Click the video to watch what EDx can offer to you.

Here is the link that I want you to explore and pick that courses you want. Enjoy!

And don't forget to share the link of my blog to others.

Teachers never stop learning. While schools are minimizing PD programs due to budget cuts, there are academic sites that offer free webinar to teachers. It is free, and all you have to do is log in and be a member. Going to on site workshops is a lot costly unless the admin can shoulder the expenses or resourceful enough to get grants. I have been to a PD on site from my own initiative and lucky me, I got reimbursed with mileage and gas and an incentive. Most of all the opportunity to get graduate credits! I will be posting those sites soon.

Here is a good one. A colleague and a friend, her name is Rebecca Lawson and you can see her name in the forum;  invited me to be a member, yet so busy that time and I was not able to explore this site. But I know, it has a lot to offer. If you are a middle school Science or Math teacher, this one has a lot of resources available and friendly moderators to help you out.

Wow..if only I have enough time or have learned about this opportunity in my college days, I might probably grabbed this one. Being able to travel abroad to study the environment and work with known educators in the field would be a great experience. What interest me most is the fact that you can, as well get your Master's degree while doing all these fun stuff! I think the tuition is just minimal. I think it is really fun if you are a science geek. http://www.earthexpeditions.org/index.php This is the link to go the website of Earth Expeditions.

PBS Teacherline

If you want to take advantage of your summer break or at any of your days' break time, you can enroll yourself to online courses offered by PBS Teacherline. It has a variety of courses streamlined to the needs of the state. Another catch is the fact that some school districts will reimburse your expenses! While some courses can actually be used towards getting teaching certificate or re-certification. So, check on the site.
